Shiv Sena does a U turn on Sania-Shoaib wedding, terms it their 'personal affair'
A day after attacking Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza for her decision to marry Pakistan Cricketer Shoaib Malik in its mouthpiece 'Samana', Shiv Sena party did a U-turn from its earlier stand on Saturday and announced not to oppose it.
Addressing reporters here, Shiv Sena's Excutive President Uddhav Thackeray clarified that his party would not oppose the marriage of Mirza with Malik with the issue being a 'personal matter.'

"Well, there is no question as to our opposing Sania-Mirza marrying a Pakistani. Samana had its version and that was it. Yes, it concerns India-Pakistan relations and we have no objection since it is her individual decision," said Thackeray.

It may be recalled that Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Friday (April 02) slammed Sania for her decision and said that she is no longer an Indian.

In Samana's editorial Bal Thackeray said that had Sania been truly an Indian at heart she would not have chosen a Pakistani.
