Bossa Nova: A new revolution in music.

Much like most revolutions the Bossa Nova movement lacks a precise moment or event in time.
However, the argument about the beginnings of Bossa Nova has only helped to add to the mystique of this now world famous art form.

Few things are certain about Bossa Nova, yet its fathers unquestionably are Vinicius de Moraes and Antonio Carlos Jobim .

Bossa Nova came in an era when Brazil was rather prosperous, democratic and cosmopolitan; this generation of musicians established a soundtrack for their time. This music would have poetic lyrics, classical music cords and Brazilian rhythms.

Although Jobim once said that "Beer had a greater influence on bossa then jazz ever did", it is undeniably "jazzistic". Bossa Nova was Bourgeois; it was the Brazilian dream.

Today Bossa Nova music is experiencing a renaissance throughout the world and again artists are adding their own touch to the magic of this music. After all Bossa Nova is more than a collection of artists and songs, it is the definition of a cool and carefree state of mind.
