Against all odds, Pakistan aim for final
Australia meet unpredictable Pakistan in semis today

The ruthless and super-confident meet the erratic and unpredictable in the second T20 World Cup semifinal today on Friday morning.

Australia, after five consecutive victories, are ready to move in for the kill; Pakistan, with three defeats, are lurking in the shadows, honing the surprise element.

On form and reputation, the world champions in every format apart from the shortest one, look unbeatable; the T20 champions, though, are desperate to prove they are a fighting unit even without some key players.

The match, however, assumes an even look because of the setting: the Beausejour track is slow and more amenable towards the spinners. Pakistan, with amazing variety in this department, feel they have the edge: two offies, one orthodox left-armer and a maverick can do wonders even on a benign surface.

In other words, Australia have the man for every contingency; more importantly, they are also hungry for the Cup. They will stop at nothing to go all the way; ironically, Pakistan, because of their sheer unpredictability, are the only ones who can pull off an upset win.
Batting first is the only hope against Australia
The Australia-Pakistan semifinal promises to be a cracker of a game if the right Pakistan team turns up. Their win in the final super-eight game against South Africa was one where they were at their most energetic and enthusiastic.
So far in the tournament, they have not been put under any pressure. If that happens, how they will react is not yet known. In a knockout situation the knowledge that there is no next game if they lose can add to the pressure and that is what Pakistan must try and do. Batting first is the only way against the Australians. So bat first put up about 150 and if they lose early wickets then they too could panic.
Pak cricket lovers see T20 Cup home again
Cricket lovers across the country have expressed confidence that Pakistan team will win the T20 World Cup.
According to a survey,56 percent Pakistanis showed confidence that Pakistan will lift the cup,26 percent are least optimistic whereas 11 percent think team will not capable enough for wining the title.
Forty-five percent Pakistanis termed Pakistan as favorite for the victory in the final, 20 percent backed Australia whereas only seven and five percent favoured India and South Africa respectively.
