T20 World Cup: Pakistan take on Australia in Semifinal Today
History favours Pakistan over Australia

The second semi final of the third World Twenty20 will be played between last edition’s champions Pakistan and Australia at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia, Today on Friday (May 14).
Australia entered the semi-final for the second time by topping in group F with three wins in as many matches while Pakistan qualified for the last four by finishing second in Group E. They have won just and lost two in three matches in Super Eights. This is third time when Pakistan entered the semi final of the World Twenty20.
Shahid Afridi’s team even lost the first two of their three matches in the Super Eight stage but still made it into the last four thanks to victory over South Africa and other results going their way.
Now Pakistan face favourites Australia with a place in the final up for grabs and an opportunity to defend the title they won last year in England.
It will be the third match between Pakistan and Australia in World Twenty20 and fifth in Twenty20 international cricket.
Pakistan have won two and Australia two in four previous matches between the two teams. Pakistan defeated Australia by six wickets when the two teams met first time in a World Twenty20 match at Johannesburg on September 18, 2007 while Australia beat Pakistan by 34 runs when they met in the current tournament at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia on May 2.
